From World Series building hero to gone in one calendar year. This is the possibility and potential reality that could soon await Dave Dombrowski. Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire when it comes to the Red Sox and increasingly we are getting signals of discontent billowing out of Fenway Park. A disappointing season leads to discontent which can often lead to changes—many made for good reason. At the end of the season a full accounting will take place including a look at each player in the organization, all of the coaches, but first and chief among them, the President of Baseball Operations—Dave Dombrowski. The team will need to decide whether or not they will extend him heading into his last season overseeing the Red Sox baseball operations or will they find a replacement. This will undoubtedly be the dominant story line until a decision is reached by ownership. In this episode we begin to explore this question as well as taking a look back at the week that was in Red Sox baseball.
