Frustrating fan base...

I'm going to preface this by explaining my personal history with the Sox. So I'm a third generation fan...Dad grew up a fan in 40's outside Chicago and watched the Williams teams play at old Comiskey Park, my grandfather was from Connecticut and was a Sox fan forever. Now my two boys and my wife are all Sox fans in Atlanta. So my little guys are now 4th generation fans.

I grew up saying the old failthful line of man wait 'til next year. I learned that line from my dad. We would get jazzed up each spring and frustrated each fall. Went to Spring Training in winter haven and lakeland and just lived and breathed Sox baseball...Braves were a nice filler as well. Anyways I digress.

So here comes 2003 and the crippling defeat...I began to truly think my dad would live his whole life and never see a world series championship. But wait here comes 2004, 2007, 2013, and 2018. We've seen four together. Both my boys have seen a world series championship. We've got hats, t-shirts, pennants etc...it's been awesome.

But I look online and see a non-stop stream of hate for Cora. I see people lambasting Betts and Bradley and Leon...WTF. It's really frustrating to see the non-stop complaining and whining and criticism of the same guys that lead this team to the 2018 championship. I get it some people are not gonna be happy until the Sox are 162-0 and sweep the way tot he World Series every year...but that's not real life. If you win every year it takes the fun out of it. I wish more and more of my fellow fans would be more appreciative of the absolute dominance the Sox have given us since 2004. There have been ups and downs but nothing like what we dealt with before 2004. So I guess this rant is aimed at making myself feel better but I hope and I wish that people (and not necessarily on OTM) mellow out a touch and appreciate this team for what it is. Realize that a MLB season is long and enjoying each individual game is part of the fun. Win or lose I love the Sox. Cora made literally every right decision last year and this year he's not perfect. But would you trade last year's dominance and this years mediocrity for a middling playoff run both years?

Love all you guys and gals...thanks for reading or not. :)
