The Red Sox are back trending in the right direction, having won four in a row and coming off a sweep of the Royals. They will look to carry that momentum into this weekend’s series against the Rays in which they will play four games in three days. That starts tonight with a single game that will pit Rick Porcello against Yonny Chirinos. Porcello is coming off a pretty rough outing his last time out, but before that he’d been heading in the right direction. The righty will look to get back on that track on Friday, and the key will simply be limiting hits. On the other side of things, it’s a somewhat normal lineup for the Red Sox against Chirinos. They are going to be without J.D. Martinez, who was pulled from Thursday’s game with back spasms. This is the third time this year he’s missed some time with that issue, but hopefully this will be like the other two where he misses a handful of games at most. Meanwhile, Mitch Moreland returns from the IL and will be playing first base, giving Michael Chavis a much-needed day off. The full lineups are below, and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM ET.
