The Red Sox are coming off a rough weekend at home against the Blue Jays and this three-game set against the White Sox is their last chance to build some momentum ahead of next weekend’s series in London. Boston is going to turn to the enigmatic Eduardo Rodriguez for this game, and we all know you never now what you’re going to get from him. He is coming off a solid start in Minnesota in which he did allow four runs, but most of that came early. He settled down as the start went on and gave the team seven big innings. This will be the second time Rodriguez faces off against the White Sox this year. He allowed a run over six innings back in May.
On the other side, the Red Sox get Rafael Devers back in their lineup for the first time since leaving early in the final game in Minnesota. The third baseman is apparently all set after tweaking his hamstring, but the same can’t be said for Brock Holt. The utility man tweaked his own hamstring on Sunday and is considered day-to-day. Eduardo Núñez gets the start at second base in Holt’s place. Other than that, things are mostly normal. The full lineups are below.
