The Red Sox (37-34) might have another laugher on their hands against the Orioles (21-48) this afternoon as the white-hot Chris Sale faces down a sad lineup at 4:05 p.m. Baseball’s funny, but I dunno if it’s funny enough to overcome a Sale who has 22 strikeouts in his last 16 innings, all scoreless, one night after the Red Sox beat back the O’s 13-2. Maybe O’s starter Dylan Bundy can pull something out of his hat — he’s fine, but if he gets lit up early and it’s back to the Baltimore bullpen, that’s bad, for them and good for us. I dunno how much more to say about this one other than that Sandy León is back for Sale’s start and, again, I feel pretty good about it.
