Trading for a Lefty

Good Morning Red Sox fans!

You've probably seen my fanposts in here before, around this time of year, but anyway, my name is Joe Orsatti. Every season since 2013, I have run a simulated organization in which I essentially build a major league team off of what's available over the offseason, on a rather strict budget. I've been building up for this season since 2017, using the previous two drafts and international signing bonus periods to attempt to create some system depth, before building the upper levels and the majors over the offseason. The success of the team is based on Pythagorean wins and losses. I take the average of runs scored and RBI's (rudimentary metric, but it works) to represent runs scored, and then I take earned runs plus (errors/2) to represent runs allowed. With these simulations, I strive for legitimacy. I understand that it's impossible to make a simulation like this 100% realistic, but I take as many steps that I can to achieve this. One step that I take year in and year out is in trade approval. When I go to make a trade, I can either take what happened in real life, and apply it to the sim team (treated as a trade offered to me), or I create a fanpost in the respective team's SBNation page, as a large group of fans of a particular team is going to give me a reasonably realistic idea as to whether or not a trade would be accepted.

As it currently stands, we're at a 0.496 win percentage this season, but based on the fact that it's a building organization, I'm taking a mixed stance for the deadline hoping to both buy and sell to some extent. This proposal is as a seller.

I noticed that the Red Sox do not have a single left-handed reliever on the active roster, and I was thinking Xavier Cedeno could be a decent fit as an inexpensive veteran who has been consistently solid throughout his career. He offers a level of stability that Poyner and Taylor just can't offer.

I'm thinking a one-for-one swap Cedeno for 26-year-old Double-A lefty Kyle Hart, who was drafted in the 19th round of the 2016 draft as a senior sign. (link to fangraphs attached).

Hart isn't really considered much of a prospect. He didn't rank among Prospects1500s top 50 (or 62 including bonus guys) nor is he mentioned on fangraphs.

I attached a poll at the bottom of the post regarding whether or not you, as a Red Sox fan, would accept the deal. If you wouldn't accept, any counter offers would also be greatly appreciated.

Just as a note, here is a list of players currently in the Red Sox organization on my sim team:

AAA (Jenrry Mejia, Carson Smith (IL))

AA (Jake Thompson (drafted 2nd rd. 2017)

DSL Johan Martinez (signed 2017)

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
