That’s more like it. One night after a vintage comeback win the Sox look to win again, perhaps — but not likely — at a reasonable hour. Tonight’s game is at 9 and will mark the season debut of Eduardo Rodriguez, who is a good breakout candidate this season but plenty good enough as it is, health permitting. It’s still March, so he’s healthy now, which is good news for us but hopefully bad news for the big, bad Mariners, who start big, bad Mike Leake tonight, befitting their bigness and badness, which is not altogether real. Enough about them. Here is the song from which I’ve cribbed today’s headline. It is profane!
To the game! The Red Sox have two fan favorites making their first starts of the year: Blake Swihart is behind the plate and batting seventh, while Brock Holt is playing second base and batting ninth. Don’t like it? Consult the song above.
The Mariners have moved a bunch of players around. Mitch Haniger is back in the leadoff spot, but he’s playing center field. Jay Bruce is still batting cleanup, but he’s in right field. Ryon Healy’s in his spot at first base, and Dylan Moore is in his spot at third. You like them? Consult the song above, or just feast your eyes on the full, engorged lineups, below:
