I hate getting my picture taken. Whether it’s a candid, posed, selfie, alone, group, whatever the scenario. I cannot stand it. I don’t know that I’ve ever taken a good picture, and if I have I still probably hated having it taken. That’s not something any of you care about though. What you may or may not care about is that I am still willing to pass judgement on other’s photos even as someone who knows the plight. I am a hypocrite in the worst way.
The Red Sox had their photo day earlier this week, and as always we got a whole crop of pictures from the day. Most of the weirdness that comes from these pictures are not the players’ fault. They are told to stand in weird poses. Of course it’ll come out looking funny! Still, this is the weirdest part of the season every season and I love it. I don’t want to call these pictures my favorite, but they definitely stood out.
This is actually a picture of me from any given day last summer when I was told that Red Sox roster couldn’t possibly do anything in the postseason.
Get yourself a first baseman who looks at his bat the same way I look at four pack from Bissell Brothers.
100 percent chance Andrew Benintendi is standing to Holt’s right.
This is that Step Brothers poster, yes? You know the one. Anyway, I’m excited for Núñez dugout antics this year.
Our large son is not so large anymore, but he is still excited to play baseball with his buds. Also, does he somehow look younger this year or has it just been a while since I’ve seen him?
He hears what you say about the Red Sox closer situation, and he’s not thrilled about it.
Rick Porcello does it again.
Even his pictures are focused wholly on the defense.
