OTM Open Thread 11/1: It is Friday

Happy Friday everyone. In the baseball world we will be spending the weekend waiting for J.D. Martinez to make his opt-out decision, which has to come by Monday. Elsewhere in the sports world today, the Celtics are back in action at home against the Knicks as they look to avoid a letdown after a big win against the Bucks. There are also a pair of national NBA games on ESPN with Rockets/Nets at 7:00 PM ET and Lakers/Mavs at 9:30 PM ET. There’s also a Navy/UConn college football game at 8:00 PM ET on ESPN2 if that’s your sorta thing. Use this space to discuss whatever you’d like. As always, just be nice to each other.

Thing I Like Today

I’m not sure “liking” this is the right word, but it was well-written and an important piece. From Meg Rowley at FanGraphs on moving on from the World Series but not letting the Astros — and really all of baseball — off the hook for working on their very real flaws.
