Last year’s title winners visit Fenway for a September showdown.

The Red Sox (97-44), fresh off one of the signature wins in this historic season, return to Fenway Park (7:10 p.m., NESN, MLBN out-of-market) to face the AL West-leading Astros (87-53) whom they’re relatively likely to see once again this October. Read the series preview here.

About tonight’s game: David Price (14-6, 3.60 ERA) takes the hill for another start in what looks like his defining season in Boston, facing a lineup he’s probably not done with on the year. The Astros counter with the Gerrit Cole (13-5, 2.86 ERA) who’s having a career year in his first season over from Pittsburgh, and ought to give the Sox as much as they can handle.

About Wednesday’s game: The Red Sox were down 7-1 entering the eighth inning. They won, 9-8. To quote Matt: This team, man.

Forecast: Hell yes. 69 degrees. You know what to do.

Today’s listening: Jake and Matt discuss the playoff roster.
