Goal number two has been accomplished. After clinching a playoff berth the team finally made official what has seemed inevitable since the four game sweep of the Yankees at Fenway—another AL East crown. While the guys celebrated everyone from J.D. Martinez, Alex Cora, and Dave Dombrowski all have their eyes set on a bigger prize. The only things up for debate over the remaining nine games are who the Red Sox opponent will be on October 5th and how many wins will the club end up with. I’m personally rooting for at least 110 and the Yankees. Fenway has been a den of nightmares for them lately and I would love the dancing on their corpse to continue. Matt and I also spend some time going through all of the end of year awards and both of us believe Mookie has some hardware coming his way. We didn’t say this on the podcast, but I also believe Jackie Bradley Jr. will win his first gold glove.
