Red Sox vs. Mets lineup: A Thor matchup is anything but low-key

Couldn’t help it.

The Red Sox (101-46) take on the perpetual disaster that is the New York Mets (68-78) tonight at Fenway Park (7:10 p.m., NESN, MLBN out-of-network). Here’s a series preview.

About tonight’s game: Hector Velazquez was supposed to start but he’s sick, so William Cuevas (0-0, 3.68 ERA) will get the emergency start. You don’t need me to tell you that Cuevas is no Noah Syndergaard (11-3 3.44 ERA), who will start for the Mets. It should be a treat to see Thor try to sneak fastballs past MVP candidates Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez, especially if he fails. As for the rest of the lineup, Rafael Devers is at third and Blake Swihart is behind the plate.

About last night’s game: They won. They always win. J.D. hit number 41 and that was basically that. Blao.

Forecast: 66 degrees and clear af. Good stuff.

Today’s reading: Is Eduardo Rodriguez the postseason X-factor? The answer may SHOCK YOU. (Also it’s yes.)

A good tweet:
