The Red Sox (88-38) look to snap a two-game losing streak against the homer-happy Indians (72-52) tonight at Fenway Park (7:10 p.m., NESN, MLBN out-of-market).
About tonight’s game: Nathan Eovaldi (5-4, 3.62) will try to keep the ball in the yard, something Rick Porcello couldn’t do last night, as the Sox attempt to overcome the strange feeling of two straight defeats. Don’t love it! The good news is that for all Cleveland’s starting pitching heft, Boston will get rookie Shane Bieber (6-2, 4.37 ERA) the baby of the bunch. Yes, that’s a Justin Bieber pun. Sorry. (That is too.)
Big lineup news! J.D. Martinez is finally hitting third. I guess the losing streak means desperate measures.
About last night’s game: A wild one that the Sox ultimately lost, but getting upset about it is like being sad that Batman is chased away at the end of The Dark Knight. In a game that entertaining, someone gotta lost, and last night it was the Sox, by a 5-4 score. Read Matt’s recap here.
Forecast: Another beautiful 70 degree night. More bliss.
