The Red Sox, surprisingly, did not add to their bullpen on Tuesday. Dave Dombrowski is comfortable with the current group. (Julian Benbow; Boston Globe)

As it turns out, however, the Red Sox did have a chance to make a move, and apparently got relatively close to a deal for Kelvin Herrera. (John Tomase; WEEI)

They did land Ian Kinsler, though, and he was greeted to the Red Sox clubhouse by some familiar faces. (Bill Koch; Providence Journal)

Staying with Kinsler, here are some fun fact about the new second baseman. (Mark Dunphy; Boston.com)

This is likely of little consequence in the grand scheme of things, but it’s worth noting that both Brandon Phillips and Adam Lind have opt-outs coming up. (Chris Cotillo; Masslive)
