The Red Seat: Episode 87-Trade Deadline Special

The Red Sox add Nathan Eovaldi and Ian Kinsler to cap off additions.

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Boston Red Sox Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The trade deadline has come and gone and Dave Dombrowski decided the team didn’t need a reliever. While I am legitimately shocked about that I can’t argue that the team isn’t in a better place than it was before the additions he did make. With Ian Kinsler, Nathan Eovaldi, and Steve Pearce the team now has a deeper lineup, better bench, and protection against injuries. Eovaldi has already impressed and Kinsler is the closest thing you can get to a fully healthy Dustin Pedroia. Sure, I would have liked another quality late inning arm, but you don’t always get what you want. Sometimes, you get what you need. Trust in Dave.
