The Red Sox (59-29) look to continue their sweepingly victorious ways when they visit the moribund Royals (25-61) tonight in one of the Kansas Cities (8:15 p.m., NESN), the one with the baseball stadium, behind Chris Sale (8-4, 2.41 ERA). Read Matt’s series preview here.

About tonight’s game: Sale, who has been on one recently, will look to dominate a Royals lineup that is bad and not good. He’ll be “matched” by Jason Hammel (2-10, 5.56 ERA), who, like the rest of this KC team, has been as bad as the Sox have been good. They start someone named Rosell Herrera today at shortstop, and he’s batting second. Second!

As for the Sox, Mitch Moreland is still out with a side issue, but Steve Pearce is in his place at first base and batting cleanup. Rafael Devers gets the night off, with Eduardo Núñez shifting over to third base, and Sandy León gets the start behind the plate.
