Red Sox at Yankees lineup: Been waiting all day for Sunday night

The Sox look to take the series in a sweltering NYC tonight.

MLB: Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees
More of this, please.
Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox (56-28) look to continue the absolute throttling of the Yankees (xx) they began last night when they wrap up a three-game series in the baking Bronx tonight on Sunday night baseball (8:05 p.m., ESPN).

About tonight’s game: The resurgent David Price faces the electric Cy Young contender Luis Severino (12-2, 2.10 ERA) in one of the better pitching matchups of the season. Severino figures to be a been stingier than yesterday’s New York starter, Sonny Gray, who was down 4-0 before the first inning was over.

About last night’s game: Perfection on Earth as the Sox beat the Yankees 11-0 behind a 5-5 night from Rafael Devers and seven shutout, one-hit innings from Chris Sale. Read Matt’s joyous recap here.

Forecast: Hot!!! Just... stupid hot and muggy.

Today’s reading: Our Cody Rivera on the perfection of last night’s game is a great read.

This guy got owned by Devers again yesterday:
