Red Sox vs. White Sox lineup: Can Chris Sale cut through his old team?

It’s a joke about the time he cut up their uniforms, see.

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox (43-20) host another American League Central punching bag tonight when the White Sox (20-40) roll into Fenway Park (7:10 p.m, NESN) just in time to face their former ace.

About tonight’s game: Chris Sale (5-3, 3.00 ERA) looks to get back on the horse after two bad starts against a team that can’t really hit. What could possibly go wrong? He’ll square off against Dylan Covey (1-1, 2.82 ERA). J.D. Martinez is hurt and Mookie Betts is still on the shelf, so things are... not the best.

About last night’s game: Jalen Beeks got lit up and a weird-as-hell lineup couldn’t save the Sox, who fell 7-2.

Forecast: 72 degrees or so. Giddyup.
