Red Sox vs. Tigers lineup: Sam Travis at DH? Sam Travis at DH

The Grapefruit League wunderkind makes his first start of 2018.

The Red Sox (42-19) look to continue their shutout ways behind Eduardo Rodriguez (6-1, 3.88 ERA) a day after blanking the Tigers (29-33), tonight at Fenway Park (7:10 p.m., NESN)

About tonight’s game: E-Rod will hope to build on the scoreless performance from likely new rotation mate Steven Wright, who went seven strong against Detroit yesterday. Rodriguez will be matched by fellow lefty Blaine Hardy (2-0, 2.77 ERA). Hardy will face a lineup that features Sam Travis at DH, as noted in the headline, and little else worth mentioning. It’s really just... the story is Sam Travis at DH. The rest is basically the same as usual, depending on what day you define “usual.”

About last night’s game: Wright did his thing, J.D. Martinez hit his 20th homer and the Sox cruised to a 6-0 win. Read Matt’s recap here.

Forecast: High 50s with a small chance of rain.

Today’s reading: “Boston won the Jose Iglesias trade,” by our own Phil Neuffer, who’s always good.

A good tweet from yesterday:
