All of the full-season leagues had the day off on Monday, I guess because of the draft? I don’t know, it’s weird. Either way, the Dominican Summer League was still going on and we got some interesting performances here. The obvious one is Abreu who walked five times in that game. The DSL isn’t exactly the most polished league there is, but that is wild. Flores and Diaz also had nice days as the two biggest names in the Dominican for the organization.
Player of the Day: It has to be Abreu. The kid walked five times! Diaz and Flores are the top prospects at this level, but Abreu is no slouch either. He’s the number 60 prospect in the system on Sox Prospects’ rankings and signed for $450,000 last summer. He’s a name we’ll be watching all summer.
