Red Sox vs. Mariners Lineups: Take two against Wade LeBlanc

Let’s try this again.

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

Just last week, the Red Sox went up against Wade LeBlanc and, well, it didn’t go so hot. Boston has struggled against lefties all year, but they took it to another level against LeBlanc. The Seattle southpaw set down 22 consecutive Red Sox batters in this game and they seemed utterly lost. The good news is they got a look at him and a little more time to try and figure him out. The bad news is that he can be deceiving and mixes his pitches incredibly well, which has led to good results against everyone and not just the Red Sox.

It’s going to be a test, and the Red Sox are going with an interesting group to go against him. They have J.D. Martinez in left field with Andrew Benintendi moving to center and Jackie Bradley Jr. shifting to the bench. They have Brock Holt at second and Rafael Devers at third with Eduardo Núñez riding the pine. And we have a Blake Swihart appearance at DH, because they might as well try anything against LeBlanc this time around. They also have the red-hot Steven Wright on the mound. Here are the full lineups.
