Red Sox at Rangers lineup: Cy vs. Cy

It’s Rick Porcello versus living legend Bartolo Colon tonight in Texas.

MLB: Seattle Mariners at Texas Rangers
The rare “opposing player gets the pic.” Worth it.
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox (22-9) look to rebound after a brutal start to the road trip against the previously flailing Texas Rangers (13-20) tonight in Texas (8:05 p.m., NESN).

About tonight’s game: It’s a battle of Cy Young Award winners, as 2016 AL winner Rick Porcello (4-0, 2.23 ERA) takes on 2005 AL winner Bartolo Colon (1-0, 2.87), who, like Porcello, is very much back on his bullshit to begin the year. Unlike Porcello, he will turn 45 later this month. They’re both spectacular.

Andrew Benintendi’s back against the hefty righty, and Sandy Leon will catch for Porcello, as he has all year. The bigger news, of course: BOBBY POYNER BACK! (Mardus Walden gone.)

About yesterday’s game: David Price did not have it and the Sox got floored, 11-5. Read Matt’s recap here.

Forecast: More of the “70 degrees and extremely humid” business that could bring short, violent rain or nothing at all.

Today’s reading: I swear this won’t just be my stuff by this Bartolo essay I wrote a few years ago remains one of my favorite pieces ever. Read it here.

An overly dramatic but tweet from last night:
