Red Sox Minor Lines: Mike Shawaryn shines again

And Kutter Crawford looks mortal

Pawtucket W 4-2

Cole Sturgeon, RF: 1-5, 1 R, 1 K

Aneury Tavarez, DH: 1-5, 1 2B, 2 K

Rusnet Castillo, CF: 2-5, 2 R, 1 K

Sam Travis, 1B: 0-3, 2 BB, 1 K

Jordan Betts, 3B: 3-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 RBI

Mike Ohlman, C: 2-5, 2 RBI, 1 K

Marcus Walden: 2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K (48 pitches)

Ty Buttrey: 1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K (23 pitches)

Bobby Poyner: 2 IP, 0 H,0 R, 0 BB, 2 K (30 pitches)

Long story short, my apartment sucks and I have no internet for the moment, which means I’m doing this on my phone. So the writeups will be short today. It’s nice to see Travis get on base even without hits, and nice to see Poyner continue to perform well this year.

Portland L 3-5

Jeremy Rivera, SS: 1-5, 1 SB

Chad De La Guerra, 3B: 2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI

Jantzen Witte, 1B: 2-5, 2 2B, 1 K

Josh Ockimey, DH, 0-4, 1 RBI

Tate Matheny: 1-4, 2 K

Austin Rei, C: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 E

Mike Shawaryn: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 7 K (86 pitches)

Austin Maddox: 2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB 1 K (26 pitches)

Another big start for Shawaryn, who continues to be one of the few bright spots in the system this year. His efforts were wasted by a rehabbing Maddox, but Shawaryn’s effectiveness was impressive, particularly against a loaded New Hampshire lineup.

Salem G1 SUSP

Salem G2 PPD

Greenville G1 L 6-9

Lorenzo Cedrola, CF: 1-4, 1 R, 2 RBI

Marino Campana, LF: 2-5, 1 HR, 1 R, 1 RBI, 2 K

Jagger Rusconi, DH: 2-4, 1 2B, 2 R

Alex Scherff: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K (32 pitches)

Greenville W 5-4

Lorenzo Cedrola, CF: 0-4

Marino Campana, DH: 1-2, 1 HR, 2 BB, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 K

Victor Acosta, RF: 2-3, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI

Zach Sterry, 1B: 2-3, 1 HR, 1 R, 1 RBI

Kutter Crawford: 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 3 K (84 pitches)

At the plate, it was a big day for Campana, getting a homer in both ends of the doubleheader. On the mound, Crawford ended his wild run of greatness and Scherff left very early for some reason. We’ll try to figure that last part out.

Player of the Day: Mike Shawaryn. Congrats, bud.
