Red Sox vs. Orioles lineup: Will the good #Ed Rodriguez please show up?

He seems to alternate good and bad starts. It’s time for a good one.

The Red Sox (31-15) look to win their third game out of four from the Orioles (14-31) behind the talented but mercurial Eduardo Rodriguez (3-1, 4.48 ERA) this afternoon in Boston (1:05 p.m., NESN).

About today’s game: Will we get the good E-Rod — the one that dominated the Yankees in the Bronx 10 days ago — or the so-so one that was kicked around by the A’s last time out? As he’s bounced between capable and meh starts, and the Orioles stink, I’m going with the good one. He’ll be faced by David Hess (1-0, 4.50 ERA) for whom I got nothing.

J.D. Martinez gets the day off, with Hanley Ramirez DHing and Mitch Moreland playing first. Xander Bogaerts will also get a breather, with Brock Holt taking shortstop.

About last night’s game: Mookie did it again, Beni went deal, Rick Porcello was sharp in the rain and the Sox beat back the O’s 6-3. Read Matt’s recap here.

Forecast: The good news is it’s gonna be warm. The potentially bad news is there’s a 60 percent chance of rain right at gametime, but it quickly tapers off. They’ll get this one in.

Today’s reading: It’s Sunday. Go outside.

A good tweet from last night:
