About tonight’s game: The Red Sox open their interleague slate with a game against the pesky Marlins, who split a four-game series with the mighty Cubs to open the year. They will start Trevor Richards, a 24-year-old righty making his major league debut and who was pretty good between A and AA ball last year. Will he have enough to fend off a hungry Red Sox offense?

Brian Johnson will get his first start of the year for Boston and he hopes to continue its run of magical starting pitching to begin the year. Andrew Benintendi, 0 for 11, returns to the lineup after a day off, while J.D. Martinez sits for the first time, owing to the lack of a designated hitter.

About yesterday’s game: More of the same from the Sox, who clawed their way to a 2-1 victory behind Hector Velazquez. Rafael Devers came through with a big hit in the sixth inning to drive home Jackie Bradley Jr. for what ended up being the equalizer. Joe Kelly got the save.

Forecast: It’s going to be 75 to 80 degrees and humid, and as I type this, there is a 15 percent chance of rain.
