Red Sox at Orioles lineup: The other rivalry is renewed

One day after a loss to the Yankees, the Red Sox try to pick up the pieces against Buck Showalter & Co.

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles
They’re not always this nice.

Ah, Buck Showalter. We meet again. There’s always beef with Buck. Last year it was Manny Machado-inspired beef in April. Who knows what it’ll be this year? Could it start today? You bet it could. And maybe it’ll be just the thing for Boston.

Yesterday the Sox send the B+ team out to face New York’s scrubs, and Boston still lost. Horrors! Today, I humbly request that the Sox defeat the Orioles (1:05 p.m., NESN), and I’m allowed to ask, because I’m special. You are, too. Show us just how special in the gamethread below. Jalen Beeks starts for the Sox, and, again, J.D. Martinez does not. Keeping it short today. Enjoy your Sunday. Here is the lineup:

  1. Mookie Betts, RF
  2. Andrew Benintendi, LF
  3. Rafael Devers, 3B
  4. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  5. Blake Swihart, DH
  6. Christian Vazquez, C
  7. Sam Travis, 1B
  8. Ivan De Jesus, SS
  9. Deven Marrero, 2B
