We roll into our last day of superlatives voting, which also happens to be the last day before Opening Day. So far, we’ve looked at Team MVP, Best Pitcher, Biggest Disappointment and Unsung Hero. This time around, we’re looking for the best defensive player on the Red Sox. This one is pretty straight forward in terms of qualifications, but I suspect there will be a few different players who will come close to splitting the vote here. A lot of this vote, I’m guessing, will be about which positions you value the most and how important that is for the vote. Perhaps you’ll also consider replacement level in a team-specific context. In other words, how much better said player is compared to whoever is after them on the depth chart. As always, let me know if I’m missing someone on this list, but I don’t think that will really be a big issue this time around.
