Red Sox vs. Cubs Lineups: The Grapefruit League is over but spring continues

Extra meaningless baseball with Opening Day rosters

MLB: Spring Training-Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox finished up their Grapefruit League slate with yet another victory on Sunday, but that doesn’t mean spring is all wrapped up for Boston. The Chicago Cubs play their spring training games in Arizona as part of the Cactus League, but as they start their regular season in Miami they are getting to Florida a few days early. The Red Sox, meanwhile, will be sticking around because there is no point in flying back to Boston now just to fly right back down south to take on the Rays to start the season. So, why not play a little baseball while they wait on the start of their respective seasons, ya know?

Anyway, the team teams will be taking each other on tonight with the first pitch coming at 6:05 PM ET. You can catch the action on NESN. Rick Porcello takes the mound for the Red Sox in his final tune up before the regular season and the Red Sox lineup — which features all major leaguers at this point, though a couple of bench players — will have a big test today with Yu Darvish taking the mound for the Cubs. Here is the full Red Sox lineup.

  1. Mookie Betts, RF
  2. J.D. Martinez, LF
  3. Hanley Ramirez, DH
  4. Mitch Moreland, 1B
  5. Xander Bogaerts, SS
  6. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  7. Rafael Devers, 3B
  8. Brock Holt, 2B
  9. Sandy Leon, C

SP: Rick Porcello, RHP

This is you gamethread, as always.
