Who will be the Red Sox MVP?

Vote to decide

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Texas Rangers
Will the team MVP be from the outfield?
Sean Pokorny-USA TODAY Sports

You may recall that last year we ran a superlatives series in which we asked the community to vote for a few different predictions of who would win a few different season-end superlatives. We’re going to do that again this year. We’ll be voting for MVP, Best Pitcher, Defensive Wizard, Biggest Surprise, Biggest Disappointment and Unsung Hero. In this particular poll, we will be voting for the Red Sox MVP.

MVP is, as I’m sure you’re aware if you follow sports at all, a term that is debated for its exact meaning. Does it simply mean the best player? Does it mean the player who changes the fortune of the team the most? Do we take into account who is behind the player on the depth chart? There are a lot of different ways MVP can be interpreted, and you can be sure there will be some disagreements over what it means. There always are. Anyway, decide what you believe the term MVP means then head down below and cast your vote in the poll. If there’s someone who you feel should be in the poll but is not, drop a note in the comments and I’ll add them in.
