Today’s links look at the Red Sox rotation depth, the new approach at the plate and the infield defense

Hi everyone. Phil is having a busy week as Cincinnati is priming for a deep tourney run this month — Phil runs Down The Drive — so I’m doing the old style links today.

The Red Sox are looking for some more depth for their rotation in the form of minor-league free agent, but they’re having trouble making deals. (Evan Drellich; NBC Sports Boston)

The good news for their rotation depth is that Steven Wright is starting to look like a possibility to be ready for Opening Day after all. (Chad Jennings; Boston Herald)

Nick Cafardo has a look at Steve Hyers’ desire for a more aggressive approach by Red Sox hitters. (Nick Cafardo; Boston Globe)

The Red Sox have a good roster, but it’s obviously not perfect. For example, the infield defense could be an issue. (Rob Bradford; WEEI)

They do have a bright spot in Deven Marrero, if he makes the roster that is. (Brett Cowett; BP Boston)

Dustin Pedroia should help here as well when he’s able to return from injury. In the meantime, he’s still finding a way to make an impact. (Sean McAdam; Boston Sports Journal)
