Red Sox vs. Orioles lineup: Rick Porcello starts again (we think)

After yesterday’s David Price scratch, who knows?

MLB: Spring Training-Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros
Pretty, Ricky.

Yesterday was a messy one. David Price was set to make his first Grapefruit League start, and I wrote as much, before he did a simulated start instead, thanks to the weather. Jalen Beeks started in his place, and it was... very, very bad, as Boston was down 9-0 after one inning. (That’s bad.) The game got rained out (huzzah!), but it couldn’t save Beeks, who was optioned this morning. He wasn’t the only one:

With the season rapidly approaching — the clocks are even right — Rick Porcello heads to the mound for his second start of the preseason, against the O’s (1:05 p.m. NESN). Reminders that a) this is your gamethread, and b) after yesterday, I make no promises that this is the lineup the Sox will end up using. I only know what they tell me, and they tell me this is today’s slate:

  1. Mookie Betts, RF
  2. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  3. Hanley Ramirez, DH
  4. J.D. Martinez, LF
  5. Xander Bogaerts, SS
  6. Rafael Devers, 3B
  7. Mitch Moreland, 1B
  8. Eduardo Nunez, 2B
  9. Blake Swihart, C

SP: Porcello, RHP
