National Pizza Day means only one thing to Red Sox fans

Here it comes!

It all happened on Patriots Day. On April 16, 2007 the Los Angeles Angels (still of Anaheim back then) were in town for Marathon Monday. J.D. Drew was at bat. And a slice of pizza was thrown.

What would follow because the stuff of Remy & Orsillo legend.

So on this most random of National Days - Pizza Day - enjoy a slice of history.

“Here comes the pizza.”

2007 doesn’t seem so far away until you look at the rosters. Current Red Sox manager Alex Cora played! Vlad is now a Hall of Famer! Remember Orlando Cabrera?
