Well, Dave Dombrowski finally went out and got his man. That’s right, J.D. Martinez is a member of the Boston Red Sox. Man, that sure is nice to say after months of speculation during this dreadful winter devoid of our usual helping of baseball news. Matt Collins and Bryan Joiner join me on the podcast to break down all the ramifications of the deal with the team. How will Hanley Ramirez and Mitch Moreland be affected by this deal? What does the batting order look like vs righties and lefties? How much time in the outfield will Martinez see? How will the bench shake out now? Who is the odd man out? How many homers will Martinez hit? The right answer to that last one is 48. We will also see how the team now stacks up against the hated Bronx Bombers, and spend a weird amount of time talking about peanuts.
