Trade Fantasy

Now since the Red Sox and Dodgers have reached an agreement with Joe Kelly, The Sox have to sign some pitchers. I was thinking maybe Tyler Thornburg could replace Joe Kelly. Thornburg has got all the right parts for the role. If we can sign back Craig Kimbrel for are closer than Thornburg could be in good use for the 2019 season.

The center core of the Red Sox bullpen are Ryan Brasier, Steven Wright, Brian Johnson, and Hector Velazquez. Those are the guys I can rely on when we pull the starting pitcher. They can come in anytime and shut down or hold any team in the league.

The Red Sox are talking about trading Rick Porcello, Jackie Bradley, and Xander Bogaerts. What I would like to see happen is Porcello being traded for Dallas Keuchel from the Astros. I think that's a pretty even trade to me. Rick Porcello's salary is around 21 million and Keuchel's salary is only at 13 million, so it also might cover some of that luxury tax that the Red Sox have on them.

The diamondbacks were interested in Jackie Bradley, but since the Red Sox might be looking to trade Xander Bogaerts. I think we can trade Bradley and Bogaerts for Manny Machado. The Sox outfield is fine with numbers and defenders, but having Machado at shortstop will be a huge step up.

If you trade away Porcello then I think you might have to get another starting pitcher. Whatever that team is, but I would love to see Keuchel heading over to Fenway. Even thought Bradley is a pretty good outfielder I think you need to trade him away because he just seems to be taking up some space. If your trading Bradley and Bogaerts I would try and make a offer for Machado.
