The Red Sox enter tonight’s 7:05 p.m. contest up 4.5 games on the Yankees for first place in the A.L. East, and now they have a sparkplug popping off in their favor: Dustin Pedroia is back from injury, while Xander Bogaerts sits. It is a devastatingly nice night for baseball in the within-10-miles-of-Yankee Stadium radius (my source on this one is me), and hopefully Doug Fister can keep his strong showings going against New York’s own new addition, Sonny Gray.
