Pawtucket L 3-6
Sam Travis: 1-3
Bryce Brentz: 2-4, 1 2B
Blake Swihart (1B): 0-3, 1 BB
Deven Marrero: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 R
Brian Johnson: 4 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 5 K
Blaine Boyer: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
Carson Smith: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
With the major-league bullpen starting to struggle for the Red Sox, they have a couple of rehabbing righties who could provide a boost down the stretch. Smith, still working his way back from Tommy John, had a great outing with two strikeouts and a groundout. Boyer, in his first rehab outing, wasn’t quite as impressive. Both have concerns — Boyer’s overall talent and Smith’s rust — but expect to see both in September.
Portland L 1-3
Josh Tobias: 2-5, 2 K
Michael Chavis: 4-4, 2 2B, 1 RBI
Josh Ockimey: 0-4, 2 K, 1 E
Dedgar Jimenez: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
Have a day, Michael Chavis. The Red Sox breakout prospect was the only SeaDog to really do much of anything in this game, but his teammates couldn’t knock him in. Still, it’s always nice to see Chavis continuing to swing the bat and giving credence to his performance this year.
Greenville W 8-7
Tyler Hill: 0-5, 1 K
Brett Netzer: 1-2, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 K
Roldani Baldwin: 2-5, 1 2B, 1 R, 2 RBI
Bobby Dalbec: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 K
Darwinzon Hernandez: 5 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 2 BB, 8 K
This is a fun group of players down in Greenville, and that’s not even including Lorenzo Cedrola. Hernandez certainly stands out for his strikeout stuff from the left side at 20 years old, but the hitters are fun to keep an eye on, too. There’s far from a sure thing among the Hill/Netzer/Baldwin/Dalbec/Cedrola group, but there’s a lot of upside to keep an eye on.
Lowell L 0-1
Michael Osinski: 0-4, 2 K
Zach Sterry: 0-4, 1 CS
Yoan Aybar: 1-3, 1 K

Tyler Esplin: 1-5, 2 K
Pedro Castellanos: 1-5, 1 R
DSL Red Sox W 4-3
Freiberg Marin: 3-3
Keibert Petit: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
