Oof. The Red Sox (55-47) and Mariners (51-51) meet again this afternoon (3:40 p.m., NESN), just hours after a heartbreaking 13-inning loss for the bean boys. On the bright side, Chris Sale (2.48 ERA) is on the mound against someone named Andrew Moore (5.70 ERA); Sale ought to be medicinal, to your broken heart, in the best Pacific Northwest way. Like marijuana, that is. Which doesn’t really help the heart, more the brain. I hear.

Anyhow, good news: Robinson Cano is sitting this one out. Bad news: So is Mookie Betts. That’s rare:
