Red Sox at Mariners lineup: It’s Rafael Devers time

Boston’s rook will face down Seattle’s King Felix in his MLB debut.

Let’s do this.

Rafael Devers, Boston’s No. 1 prospect, will make his big-league debut tonight at third base when the Red Sox (55-46) take on the Mariners (50-51) at Safeco Field in Seattle (10:10 p.m., NESN).

It’s probably too early to pencil in Devers as Boston’s long-term answer to their slapstick problem at the hot corner, but with Pablo Sandoval back in the Bay Area, something had to be done, and Devers will get his shot. He’s been a terror this year in the minor leagues, hitting .311/.377/.578 across AA and AAA. He might not be a superstar or even a certified MLB regular out of the gate, but he’ll be fun to watch. He’s a third baseman who bats lefty, after all. Insanity!

Drew Pomeranz (3.51 ERA) gets the start against Felix Hernandez (3.88 ERA), and I’ve just been handed an infant, so here are the full lineups:
