Red Sox vs. Angels lineups: Moreland moves down, Hanley grabs a glove

And David Price takes the mound

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox are coming off a good overall win in Los Angeles on Friday and are looking to make it two in a row on the west coast. Once again, the pitching matchup theoretically lies in their favor with David Price taking the mound. His overall numbers still don’t look great, but they do look much better than they did just a few weeks ago. The lefty has been on a roll in July and is looking a lot like the pitcher Boston thought they were getting when he first inked his massive contract two winters ago.

The Angels will be sending JC Ramirez to the hill. The Red Sox will be looking for some revenge against the righty, as he allowed just one run when the two sides met in June. While Ramirez has been solid enough this year, there’s no reason this lineup should be shut down by him twice in one season. Boston will be sending up the normal cast of characters on Saturday with one key change. Mitch Moreland remains in the lineup, but he has been moved to the number seven spot for the night. It’s a change many of us have been looking for over the last few weeks, at least, and it’s finally come to fruition. Also of note: Moreland will be DHing tonight with Hanley Ramirez handling defensive duties at first base, so one would have to imagine Moreland’s toe is bothering him more than he’s letting on. Here are the full lineups, and my editing platform is still being a jerk so once again we are left with a pretty screenshot of my Google Sheet.
