Red Sox at Yankees lineup: The first game of the next 10 years

It's Boston versus New York for all the marbles, for better or for worse, from now until further notice.

The Red Sox (31-25) visit the soggy Bronx tonight to face the first-place Yankees (32-22) in what is officially the first of a three-game series 7:05 p.m., NESN) and unofficially the first real game in the de facto reboot of the rivalry and, in that sense, the first game of the next decade:

Matt has a good preview of how the Yankees find themselves atop the division early; TL,DR, they started smoking hot and have played .500 ball since. You know Aaron Judge is good, but so are Aaron Hicks and Starlin Castro; Brett Gardner has been incredible over the last month, and unlike the previous two games these teams played (both Yankees wins), young slugger Gary Sanchez will be in the lineup. That's a lot of good and hot bats.

Drew Pomeranz (4.24 ERA), who has 17 strikeouts to 1 walk over his last two starts, starts for the rebellion. Masahiro Tanaka (6.34 ERA), struggling through an otherwise awful year, looks to rebound for the empire versus a Boston team against whom he threw a complete-game shutout on April 27.

Han shot first. Here are the full lineups:
