The Red Sox (40-32) take on the Angels (38-38) tonight (7:10 p.m., NESN, but you’re going to want to tune in at 6:30 or earlier) in a game that will play as an encore to the appearance of David Ortiz, whose No. 34 is being retired tonight in a pregame ceremony.

He was, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, good.

Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello (5.05 ERA, 7.40 in June) starts for Boston, while Alex Meyer (3.52 ERA) goes for the OC. Dustin Pedroia sits with a rib injury. UPDATE: He lives! Here are the full lineups.
