Red Sox at Astros lineup: Hanley’s still on the shelf

Can Rick Porcello return to Cy Young form against the league’s best?

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Sox (38-29) look to build on one of their best wins of the season when then face the Astros (45-23) tonight in Houston (8:15 p.m., FOX). Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello (4.67 ERA) who was booed by the Fenway fans last time out during a four-run first inning, starts for Boston. He’ll be opposed by 23-year-old David Paulino (6.59 ERA), one of Houston’s back-bench starters who has been called into action because of the extensive injuries suffered in the rotation. My sympathy level is low, especially after the Sox were blanked by Philly’s Nick Pivetta.

After two whole runs in two games, it’s time for the bats to wake up Houston’s little bandbox of a ballpark. Not Hanley’s bat, though. He again sits with tightness in his neck, with Chris Young at DH. Sandy Leon’s back behind the plate. Here are the full lineups:
