Bryce Brentz: 2-3, 1 BB, 2 R, 1 RBI

Pawtucket G2 W 6-3
Rusney Castillo: 1-4
Ryan Court: 0-2, 2 BB
Sam Travis: 1-4, 1 R
Bryce Brentz: 2-3, 1 HR, 1 BB, 2 R, 2 RBI
Steve Selsky: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 R
Brandon Workman: 2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K
Jamie Callahan: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
I have no idea how it is possible to only allow one run while walking EIGHT batters in 4 2⁄3 innings. Owens never ceases to amaze me, and typically not in flattering ways.
Portland L 0-6
Danny Mars: 0-3, 1 BB, 3 K
Tzu-Wei Lin: 1-4, 1 CS
Rafael Devers: 0-4, 2 K
Nick Longhi: 0-3
Josh Tobias: 0-2, 1 K
Travis Lakins: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Jake Cosart: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 4 R, 3 BB, 0 K
Lakins still hasn’t gotten to dominate Double-A like he did High-A, although that was obviously to be expected. This time out was a very solid start for the righty, although he did fail to miss bats yet again. It’s starting to become a theme with his Double-A performance. All things considered, you definitely take this kind of start from him, but there is room to grow. Also, I think I’m just about out on Cosart.
Salem L 3-6
Michael Chavis: 0-4, 3 K
Josh Ockimey: 1-3, 1 BB, 1 R, 1 K
Austin Rei: 1-2, 2 BB, 1 R
Shaun Anderson: 4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 4 BB, 4 K
Like Lakins above him, Anderson is having some issues in his new league. Specifically, the control has been an issue for the former Florida Gator, as he’s walked at least three batters in three of his five starts with Salem. He’s also simply running into better hitters who are doing better at converting balls in play into hits. There’s not much cause for concern, but rather just cause for a little sigh when he pitches. Adjustments are always necessary, but they’re not fun to wait for.
Greenville W 5-4
Lorenzo Cedrola: 0-5
Tyler Hill: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 K
Cedrola is starting to struggle after ending May on a very high note. He has just two hits in his last five games and his batting average is back down to .282.
Reinaldo Ugueto: 2-3, 1 2B, 2 BB, 2 R, 1 RBI
Freiberg Marin: 2-4, 2 RBI
Jose Mejias: 3-5, 2 RBI, 1 K
Eduard Bazardo: 5.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K
