Prior to the season, according to Bovada, the Red Sox were tied with the Cubs for the best World Series odds in all of baseball. You could get some action on them winning it all at 9/2 odds. Things have changed in the first month of the season, and things seem pretty rough if you watch this team on an everyday basis.
If you don’t think, and just look at the big picture, things looks pretty solid. David Price is still out, but it still appears he’ll be back at some point. They’ve had a successful bullpen despite missing two of their most talented arms. They’ve somehow kept their heads above water despite having the least powerful lineup in baseball by a significant margin.
With all of that in mind, the Red Sox’ updated World Series odds are at 7/1, the third-best in baseball behind the Cubs and Indians. The sky is not close to falling in Boston, and if you are the gambling type now may be the time to lay down some cash on the Red Sox while their odds trending in the wrong direction.
