The Red Sox (28-23) look to continue last night’s homer barrage as they look to take the final game of a three-game series against the White Sox (24-27) at Frank Thomas Field* on the South Side tonight (8:10 p.m., NESN).
Fan favorite Drew Pomeranz (4.70 ERA), coming off by far his best start of the season in the record-tying** team 20-strikeout effort against the Rangers last week. He’ll face off against Mike Pelfrey (4.41), the most on-brand White Sox Mike since Mike Sirotka.
On offense, Andrew Benintendi starts for the first time in three games and bats second, while Mitch Moreland returns to first base and bats cleanup in place of Hanley Ramirez. Pablo Sandoval will serve as designated hitter, which is hopefully more than a good comedy joke.
I’m feeling a little loopy today, as you can probably bird. Here are the full lineups:

* Dare to dream
** This should be an asterisk, but since I’m using asterisks to signal endnotes, I had to put two. Therefore it’s an endnote. But the endnote is just * for reasons that don’t matter to ultimately matter to the record book, especially because Chris Sale is gonna strike out 22 at some point this year. That’s right — right past 21. Guy’s an animal.
