Red Sox at Cardinals lineup: Forget the news, stop the Leake

The Red Sox look for two in a row in the gateway to the west.

The Red Sox (20-18) look to continue tormenting the Best Fans in Baseball when they take on the Cardinals (21-16) tonight at Busch Stadium and on national television, hoping for their second straight win (8:00 p.m., NESN, ESPN out-of-market).

Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello (4.01 ERA) takes on Cardinals righthander Mike Leake (1.94 ERA), of whom Over the Monster site manager Matt Collins recently wrote: “Heading into this season, Leake was perhaps the most boring pitcher in the league.” So that’s fun. He doesn’t strike out a ton of guys and relies on a sinker to induce ground balls. If the Sox can put it in the air, they should have a chance as long as Porcello can stop the Cardinals from doing the same.
