2017 Red Sox preview: Who will be the Red Sox’ biggest surprise?

Which player will far exceed expectations in 2017?

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Tampa Bay Rays Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

We have reached the final day of our superlative series, with just two more questions on the docket. Over the last three days, we’ve already looked at Team MVP, Best Pitcher, Defensive Wizard, Biggest Disappointment, Unsung Hero and Best Clutch Performer. Today, we kick things off by trying to find the Red Sox’ biggest surprise.

Like some of the other categories here, this is sort of inherently impossible to vote for. How can someone be a surprise if we think they’re going to be a surprise? It doesn’t make sense! My advice is not to think about it too much. We’re doing fun votes about guys who are playing a game while wearing pajamas. Just vote for you think is going to defy relatively low expectations. Or don’t. I’m not your mother.
