Red Sox vs. Yankees lineups: The losing team (sort of) has to travel

New, comments

Chris Sale gets his first start against the Yankees on Tuesday.

MLB: Spring Training-Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Every year towards the end of camp, the Red Sox split the team into two and have the two sides complete an obstacle course of sorts. It’s a team-building exercise that the players actually care about because the losing team has to get on the bus to travel for the next game. This year, that game is in Tampa to face the Yankees, and the losing team was headed by Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez. However, neither Pedroia nor Ramirez will be making the trip. Smh. #FireFarrell.

Here are the players who are making the trip.

  1. Marco Hernandez, SS
  2. Andrew Benintendi, LF
  3. Sam Travis, 1B
  4. Jackie Bradley, CF
  5. Sandy Leon, C
  6. Bryce Brentz, RF
  7. Matt Dominguez, 3B
  8. Carlos Quentin, DH
  9. Mike Miller, 2B

Starting Pitcher: Chris Sale

Here, we get the team’s new ace facing off against the biggest rival for the first time. I can feel the tension already. Spring training is wild. This game will be broadcasted for your viewing pleasure, as NESN has today’s contest. It’s also on WEEI for those with only radio access. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go check out Sedona.
