Yeah so the Red Sox are down to five viable starting pitchers, the fifth of whom — Kyle Kendrick — is set to start today. Our fearless editor says not to panic, but he’s headed out to the Grand Canyon and can’t tell us what to do. Candy for dinner? Candy for dinner.

Anyhow, Sam Travis was scratched from today’s lineup after taking a pitch the knee yesterday, meaning the following starting nine for today’s 1:05 p.m. tilt at JetBlue Park (WEEI):

  1. Marco Hernandez, 2B
  2. Pablo Sandoval, 3B
  3. Mookie Betts, RF
  4. Hanley Ramirez, DH
  5. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
  6. Allen Craig, 1B
  7. Bryce Brentz, LF
  8. Sandy Leon, C
  9. Deven Marrero, SS

SP: Kyle Kendrick

Old friend Wade Miley starts for Baltimore, which, thanks to the you-know-what, boasts a Manny Machado-free lineup. We’ll take it.
