Yesterday was picture day at Red Sox camp. As someone who routinely takes horrible pictures, I really shouldn’t comment on pictures of other people. And yet, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Here is a random selection of your 2017 Red Sox.
This is Joe Kelly doing his best “I just waited six hours at the DMV to get my new license” impression. In fact, this looks almost exactly like the picture I had taken for my new license the day after my 21st birthday. Which....yeah, you can imagine the shape I was in for that one.
That face when even you can’t believe that you’re still participating in major-league camps.
This is soon-to-be top prospect Rafael Devers, but I would also believe you if you told me it was teenage son of one of the players or coaches. At least he doesn’t have braces anymore.
The first picture is from this year The second picture is from last spring training. This is Rick Porcello’s Blue Steel.
This one is just sad. So much hair potential being thrown away every single day.
We found Hanley’s new best friend now that Ortiz will no longer be in the clubhouse.
Yeah, this is the look of a man to whom you do not give a throwback jersey.
This is Jake DePew. I follow baseball pretty closely. I know most baseball players. I have literally never heard of Jake DePew.
This is Marcus Walden. I follow baseball pretty closely. I know most baseball players. I have literally never heard of Marcus Walden.
If I was a good person, this would be the part in which I post a bad picture of myself for everyone to comment on. Luckily, I am not a good person. With picture day behind us, we’re one step closer to real baseball, and one step closer to real baseball talk. Luckily, there are some actual games this week.
